EXTERIOR

DESIGN

DAZZLING MOTION EVEN WHILE STANDING STILL

Its unique visual appearance means the GT-R’s road presence is enhanced, particularly in low-light and at night, while the fitment of the new headlights gives the driver increased visibility.

IT CORNERS AS IF IT CAN READ YOUR MIND.

A true supercar is an extension of your will. Steering effort is reduced at lower speeds for in-town manoeuvring, while still delivering the precision you demand. It all adds up to a supreme balance, giving the driver complete confidence to enjoy thoroughbred horsepower with perfect control at your fingertips.

PERFORMANCE

DRIVING PLEASURE

The upgraded GT-R is now fitted as standard with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT 600 DSST CTT tyres for outstanding road-holding and precise response in all conditions, thanks to stiffer sidewalls which reduce deformation, improving steering response under hard cornering Teana - New Front Bumper Design

ONE MAN. ONE ENGINE.

Every GT-R engine is hand-assembled by a single technician – one of only eight allowed the honour – in a dust-free, temperature-controlled clean room. Teana - New Front Bumper Design

EXPERT DRIVES

Master Craftsmanship is not only seen inside the clean-room conditions of the GT-R’s engine-building facility – it is also found behind the wheel at the edge of the performance envelope. From the beginning, we knew GT-R was going to redefine the breed in terms of performance, refinement and capabilities. So we brought together the top development drivers at Nissan to create a vehicle that would excel not just at one racetrack, in one kind of weather, or when driven only by a master driver. This supercar would be for anytime, anywhere, and be as rewarding to a novice enthusiast as it would to a veteran racer. Teana - New Front Bumper Design

HIGH RIGIDITY BODY

To achieve the project’s ambitious targets for high-speed handling and ride comfort, Nissan has enhanced the level of precision-constructed body elements and advanced assembly methods in creating the 2014 Nissan GT-R. Teana - New Front Bumper Design

ATTESA E-TS ALL-WHEEL DRIVE

Instead of the traditional 50/50 torque split between front and rear axles, the electronically controlled All-Wheel Drive system provides up to 100% of available torque to the rear wheels, and can send up to 50% of torque to the front wheels. This provides the steering feel and response of a rear-wheel vehicle, while giving the added confidence that only AWD can offer. Teana - New Front Grille Design

TECHNOLOGY

MULTI-LED HEADLIGHTS WITH ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM

Developed exclusively for the Nissan GT-R, the new headlights feature four LED units to create an extremely natural light, replicating daylight, while also offering increased illumination. The super-wide-beam headlights expand the area of illumination toward the sides of the front of the car, enhancing visibility, especially when cornering.

PREMIUM MIDSHIP PACKAGE

Moving the engine further back in the chassis reduces weight over the nose for better handling. In traditional layouts, this would place the transmission rearward, intruding into the passenger cabin. The solution was to separate the transmission from the engine and mount it with the transfer case in the rear of the vehicle, creating the world’s first independent rear transaxle for an All Wheel Drive vehicle.

3.8-LITRE TWIN-TURBOCHARGED V6 ENGINE

An IHI turbocharger is mounted on each bank of the engine. By combining the exhaust manifold and turbocharger into a single unit, the amount of intake and exhaust is optimised. A larger intercooler is installed for more efficient cooling and, to ensure there is no turbo lag as torque rises, high-precision electronic controls are used.

DUAL CLUTCH 6-SPEED TRANSMISSION

Two clutches, no clutch pedal. The Nissan GT-R’s 6-speed sequential dual-clutch transmission shifts as quickly as 0.15 seconds when in R-Mode. Inside, there are separate clutches for the odd and even gears. When in an odd-numbered gear, the adjacent even-numbered gear is "pre-selected," ready to make the shift immediately.

SUSPENSION SYSTEM

Handling is managed by a sophisticated 4-wheel independent suspension system mounted to high-precision 6-point front and rear subframes. A special Bilstein DampTronic driver-adjustable shock absorber system utilises multiple vehicle information systems to provide appropriate damping forces and a high level of control for a variety of driving situations.

DAMPTRONIC® SYSTEM

The DampTronic® system features three driver-selectable settings: Normal, Comfort, for maximum suspension compliance; or R for sporty driving. For 2015, the suspension tuning has been improved to provide a smoother, more refined ride that also enhances the tyres’ ability to remain in contact with the road. The system is exceptionally advanced with the electronic controller of the damping force managing 11 types of vehicle data.

MULTI-MATERIAL BODY STRUCTURE

To provide a rigid platform, Nissan engineers pioneered a unique body structure using high-strength steel, die-cast aluminum, carbon fiber and composite materials.

INTERIOR

UPSCALE CABIN APPOINTMENTS

The steering wheel is trimmed in leather for a premium feel while the part-aniline leather seats are further embellished with stitched accents, giving the ambience of a genuine GT designed for cross-continental, first-class travel.

MULTI-FUNCTION METER

The 7-inch wide LCD multi-function meter displays the vehicle information and driving log. For example, when driving on a circuit the system provides the driver with mechanical information about the condition of the car. The braking and steering display shows the corresponding log on lateral and vertical G forces for 20 seconds. A recording feature with playback allows the driver see how they were able to control the car during cornering, or how much unnecessary movement took place to help improve driver technique.

DRIVING SAFETY

The new headlights feature AFS (Adaptive Front lighting System) that automatically adapts the angle of the light beam according to the speed of the car. At highway speeds, actuators in the headlight unit adjust the angle of the projectors to project the light further.

BRAKE SYSTEM

Stopping power is provided by a high-performance braking system developed specifically for the Nissan GT-R, featuring Brembo® monoblock 6-piston front and 4-piston rear callipers.15.35-inch front and 15.0-inch rear Brembo® full-floating cross-drilled two-piece rotors and low-steel high-stiffness brake pads minimise fade and provide intense stopping performance. The callipers utilise race car-style radial mounting to minimise calliper flex during extreme braking.

SETUP SWITCH

The transmission, shock absorbers and VDC stability control can each be shifted into three modes: ‘R’ mode, ‘NORMAL’ mode and individual modes for each system. Combined with the choice of automatic or manual shifting, these modes give the driver exhilarating performance and control, whether on the circuit, on the highway in the rain or snow, and even on rough road surfaces on city streets.
